How to Obtain CEU Credit
Mansi Soni: Mansi moved to the U.S. to pursue her MBA from Thunderbird at ASU and after graduating, she moved to Chicago where she started her career in product management. She enjoys working with stenographers and creating products that add value to the court reporting industry.
Dr. Michael Antonio Rodriguez: Michael retired with distinction after 38 years of service as an official court reporter with the District Court of Alexandria. He always held a deep passion and competitive spirit for the court reporting industry, which led him to compete in national and international typewriting and shorthand competitions. Over the years of his distinguished career, he placed as high as 19th in the world for typewriting and seventh in the world for machine shorthand. In 1986, he became the founder and donor of the Michael A Rodriguez Court Reporting Scholarship where he has sponsored many students studying court reporting, many of whom are now retiring from the court reporting field.
Paul Smakula: Paul has been a freelance reporter for 13 years. He loves the freedom and flexibility that comes with being a court reporter. The most interesting case he’s ever covered were the many depositions and hearings he wrote in the Johnny Depp -v- Amber Heard case.
Rob Liefer: Rob was born and raised in Long Island, NY, and received his bachelor’s degree from Berkeley College of Music in Boston, MA. He moved to Los Angeles, CA, in 2004 and was a successful session musician for the next decade, playing guitar in the house band on shows such as American Idol, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, and the Grammy Awards. He toured extensively throughout the world and loved every minute of it. After the arrival of his daughter in 2012, Rob enrolled in court reporting school in Los Angeles. His mother and uncle were freelance reporters in Manhattan, NY, and court reporting was always a career that he felt would be a natural progression after his music career, given the manual similarity to playing an instrument and the exciting lifestyle of a freelancer. His son was born in 2015 and in 2021, Rob and his family moved to Denver, CO, where he works as a busy freelance stenographic reporter.
