Meet Kathy DiLorenzo

March of 2023 will mark 42 years for me in the court reporting business. I began as a freelance reporter in Pittsburgh. After five years, I moved into the then-new broadcast captioning arena for 20+ years before moving back into freelance reporting. All of those years were focused on training, education and recruitment.

In the early days, I based my career accomplishments on the certifications that I achieved. Once my career turned to training and education, I viewed my achievements more on the success of those reporters who I encouraged and counseled in their career paths. There’s no greater professional acknowledgment than a thank you for time spent mentoring a colleague.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh one of six children. I have two grown children, Lisa and Christopher, both of whom are married. My two granddaughters, Rory (5) and Sloan (2), are my joy. I enjoy walking outdoors (must be outdoors!) through the seasons. I have a beagle, Jake, who will turn 12 this spring. In my spare time outside of PD, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and neighbors.
