Entry Requirements for Sweden
Sweden does not require a tourist visa for stays of less than 90 days. You will need a passport valid for at least 90 days beyond your planned date of departure from Sweden, and Planet Depos strongly recommends traveling with a passport valid no less than 6 months post your departure date from Sweden. You need 2 blank passport pages for your entry stamp. There are no direct flights from the U.S. to Sweden, so you will need to check any country or countries you pass through to determine if a separate transit visa is required.

Money Matters
While most of Europe uses the Euro, Sweden still uses the krona. Major credit cards (some restrictions apply to American Express) are widely accepted throughout Sweden. Please note, in order to use your credit card for payment or to withdraw cash, your card must have a chip and PIN. Older magnetic-stripe credit cards won’t work. ATMs are widely available.

Weather
Sweden has a generally temperate climate. Areas above the Arctic Circle enjoy invigorating winters! In the southern regions, winters are milder, with temperatures in the mid 30’s. Winter nights are long due to Sweden’s latitude. Summers are pleasant, with low humidity and relatively lower temperatures. Summer days are longer, because of the high latitude.
